Overview

The Performance Analyst at GB Railfreight plays a vital part in protecting GBRf’s interests by ensuring train service delays are investigated thoroughly and attributed correctly.

 

In this role you will be responsible for understanding why GBRf services incur delays and develop clear, evidence-based arguments with Network Rail (our supplier) to ensure accountability is applied to the correct party. Whilst full training will be provided, you must bring a strong sense of drive, determination, and attention to detail to ensure every possible cause of delay is explored, and contractual responsibilities are applied fairly.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and analyse GBRf service delays, ensuring robust and accurate reporting.
  • Construct evidence-based cases to challenge delay attribution with Network Rail.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to gather operational information and insights.
  • Ensure GBRf is not held responsible for delays outside of its control.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, consistency, and professionalism in all investigations.
  • Update periodic and ad hoc reports.
  • Attend industry related performance meetings.

 

Qualifications

Essential

 

  • Excellent IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft suite
  • Knowledge of UK railway geography.
  • Detail-oriented maintaining accuracy in all tasks.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Willingness to travel and lodge for the requirements of the role.

 

Desirable

 

  • Understanding of the GBRf train plan.
  • Awareness of Network Rail Schedules 4 and 8 within the Performance Regimes.
  • Familiarity with Network Rail Delays, Principles and Rules (DAPR).
  • Understanding of GBRf operational practices.
  • Experience with TMV (formerly CCF),TRUST/TOPS, GBRf Loco Planning tools, Traincrew diagramming, IFM., Journeo (CCTV) and Co-Pilot (formerly MTISA).
